A graphic designer with the following qualities:

• A strong portfolio of graphic design, branding and illustration works
• Capable and confident working on multiple projects at a time
• Willing to work as both a project lead and a supporting designer on various projects
• A collaborative, organized and reliable team player
• Personality aligns well with our team culture & core values (see Step 4)
• We're a small team and we all wear a few different hats, so additional creative skills and passions are always a plus (ex. motion design, photography, writing, ux design, video, music, etc.)

This is a contract role.

Any initial offer we make will begin as a freelance contract for approximately 5-10 hours per week. You must be able to begin work as an independent contractor if you apply for this role.

As Pen & Mug continues to grow, there may be an opportunity to increase this role to a full-time position on our team. If that all sounds good to you, we'd love to connect!

Responsibilities:

• Graphic design for both digital & print materials, serving a variety of clients
• Layout design for multi-page documents and presentations
• Photo editing and retouching
• Design logos and cohesive visual identity systems, including design elements and style guides
• Create custom illustrations in a variety of visual styles
• Create templates for client handoff (Google Slides, Canva, PPT, Figma, etc.)
• Hit your deadlines and proactively communicate progress or blockers
• Highly collaborative with both team members and clients. This includes design reviews, client meetings, and occasional project handoffs between team members
• Participate in team meetings and client meetings each week

Payment:  $1,500 - $2,500 USD per month (initial contract)

This contract will be structured as a flat monthly rate for an agreed-upon amount of work per month.
