The platform offers solutions for coaching, sales gamification and performance intelligence, and is loved by sales teams around the world – from high-growth startups to professional sports franchises to the Fortune 100.

Pen & Mug served as Ambition’s partner for all things graphic design and brand elevation, operating as an extension of their marketing team. We worked closely with their marketing team and company leadership to create the visual design for everything from top-priority initiatives to customer swag – and in their words, our work has “helped significantly elevate their brand and place them in a better position in the market.”

The Origin Story

Our partnership with Ambition began with a big goal: reimagine their visual brand identity to transform a scrappy startup aesthetic into something more bold, engaging and professional. The only thing off limits to revision was their logo itself, which had a solid brand equity established. Everything else was fair game.

Sales gamification was one of their primary value offerings at the time, and the platform was described by many as “fantasy football for sales teams”. We combined those themes of sports and competition with the foundation of their company logo (the letter “A” made up of a clean geometric shape and an organic, hand-drawn circle) to create the new-and-improved design system shown below:
