When the GNPCA (originally the GNVCA) launched as an independent organization, they needed a visual brand that reflected their dynamic mission—fostering a collaborative community for Nashville’s private capital ecosystem.

We worked closely with their leadership team to create a responsive brand identity that feels inviting and energetic, while at the same time no-frills and professional to suit their venture capital audience. The cleverly placed star within the GNVCA logo is a simple shape packed with meaning: (1) a “venture” and the bright path ahead for Nashville’s private capital community, (2) a tie-in to the stars on the state flag of Tennessee, and (3) a nod to the important role that Vanderbilt University played in the organization’s founding.

Once we had the visual elements finalized it was time to bring this new brand to life across every channel—both online and IRL. We built a new website, co-created their member onboarding experience, wrote social media campaigns, designed high-impact event materials (signage, name tags, slides, etc.) and helped produce VC-worthy merch.

After a strong start and about one year as the “GNVCA”, the The Greater Nashville Venture Capital Association changed their name to the Greater Nashville Private Capital Association (GNPCA)—reflecting a broader commitment to Nashville’s entire private capital ecosystem.

Fortunately our team was still working closely with the GNPCA as their outsourced creative department, and we were able to update all logo versions, web pages, social profiles and other communications to the new name in a coordinated effort that launched simultaneously on the morning of the official announcement.
