We partnered with the founders of Sergeants Towing Co. to develop an eye-catching brand identity, a mobile-optimized (and award winning!) website, vehicle wraps, marketing materials and more.

At the start of this project, the Sergeants team had two clear goals: (1) Design a visual brand identity that stands apart on both the internet and interstate, and (2) create a website with the smoothest possible user experience across all devices.

Challenge: Accepted.

First, we combined our modern design approach with strong military themes to create the best looking visual brand in the Chicagoland towing industry (if we do say so ourselves). Then we designed a website that optimizes itself for both the screen size being used AND the needs of the user who’s viewing it.

Sergeants Towing Co. serves two key customer profiles with different needs: Logistics and transportation companies who need a reliable on-call towing partner, and everyday truck/auto drivers in need of immediate roadside service.

We made strategic changes to the website design based on screen size so desktop users (likely logistics company decision makers) see links to more detailed information and reviews, while mobile website users (more likely on the road and in need of immediate roadside service) see the buttons to call or book service online front-and-center without other unneeded distractions.

We were equally intentional about optimizing this site for the needs of both humans and robots. Meaning: we found ways to employ the latest and greatest SEO tactics without cluttering or causing harm to the actual human user experience. The Sergeants website uses a large fleet of landing pages to serve up important keywords to the search engine overlords, while keeping all pages organized and written in a way that is still suitable for human consumption. The website also sports a few delightful details like military-inspired language and visual elements, but never gets too clever for its own good or loses sight of the fact that some website visitors may be in an actual emergency situation.

Our thoughtful approach to this website design, paired with the engaging brand identity we developed, earned our team a Netty award for Responsive Website Design!
